Five Rumours about Haladria

Rumours may be known by characters who are not from and have not visited Haladria. This is just a small sample of rumours you might have heard about this fractious, often infighting country.

  1. So many people in Haladria are great heroes that it is safer to just assume that everyone you meet is a hero of some description!
  2. Haladrians are divided into squabbling groups, not even based on family, but only on what city they come from.
  3. Magic is looked down on in Haladria as if it were necromancy.
  4. Haladrians are so practised in warfare with each other that their neighbours are afraid to fight them!
  5. There are so many heroes in Haladria because, as well as the internal wars, there are loads of monsters in Haladria for them to fight!

Five Facts about Haladria

For your OC reference, or IC if your character is from Haladria or has visited it in the past.

  1. Birthplace of the Bone Pantheon: Unlike the Sword and Seal, the Bone (then Torch) Pantheon was created long after the Sundering, in the heart of Haladria, and pilgrims may even visit the place where it is said to have happened. For this reason, the Bone faiths are exceptionally strong here.
  2. Mourning Bells: Due to the strength of the Bone faiths in Haladria and their origin there, many Haladrians still mourn the dead god Anseah, Lady of the Silver Bells, and resent the Rat Lord for replacing her.
  3. Birthplace of Heroes: The Heroic Code originated in Haladria, and more Olympian Heroes hail from this country than any other.
  4. Many City-States: Although Haladria was briefly unified by a great leader called Agathon, it has once again split into multiple conflicting city-states, each with its own alliances and vendettas with the others. Which state a person is from may massively change their outlook on life: for example, some states consider slavery a fact of life, while others outlaw it.
  5. Plagued by Horrors: Haladria has long been assailed by both undead and elementals, and many who live there detest these beings as a result.
