Formerly a part of Wylvetra, this land is the region into which the Lord Undying’s army was forced after a string of unanticipated defeats in 1307. Heavily fortified and perpetually guarded by the sleepless undead, it is widely assumed that the Lord Undying is using this tiny kingdom as a base from which to gather her strength and rebuild her forces before once again embarking on the conquest of Alvaron.

Five Rumours about the Undying Kingdom

Rumours may be known by characters who are not from and have not visited the Undying Kingdom. This is just a small sample of rumours you might have heard about this undead-infested land.

  1. The Lord Undying is an unkillable, immortal, unstoppable necromancer! Only the gods themselves prevented her from conquering the entirety of Alvaron!
  2. The Lord Undying is the result of a dread ritual done in secret by the True Elves of Alvaron! This is why all True Elves should rightly be suspected of evildoing!
  3. Anyone slain by the Lord Undying’s vile army immediately rises to fight as part of it.
  4. Although she only came to Alvaron recently, the Lord Undying has existed for as long as the world itself has.
  5. A bold necromancer may seek the Lord Undying’s favour and be granted great and terrible power…

Five Facts about the Undying Kingdom

For your OC reference, or IC if your character has entered the Undying Kingdom and survived. For characters from the Undying Kingdom before it was invaded by undead, refer to Wylvetra. Characters should not hail from the Undying Kingdom after the undead invasion without explicit ref consent and input.

  1. Limited Power: The undead horde that patrols the Undying Kingdom, while numerous and carefully-instructed, has not been a perfectly efficient machine since mid 1307, shortly before the Lord Undying’s army was pressed back to this small region. The undead no longer march in eerie unison, nor know instantly what is happening to their fellows miles away.
  2. Loss of Magic: Magic-infused undead were once the core of the Lord Undying’s army, but now very few of them can be seen in the Undying Kingdom.
  3. Powerful Subordinates: The Lord Undying has favoured lieutenants, who she permits some degree of license to further their own goals as long as they also serve her.
  4. A Deadly Killer: A deadly undead True Elf stalks the land, often accompanied by a cadre of other undead True Elves who are only marginally less skilled.
  5. Traitor to the Living: At least one of the Lord Undying’s lieutenants is either mortal or capable of appearing mortal.
