The banquet will be held on 26th February 2011, starting at 7pm, at Durham Gilesgate Sports College, Bradford Crescent, Durham.
Getting there
- To reach the venue, head up Gilesgate from Hild Bede roundabout.
- After the Esso garage on your left, turn left down Churchill Avenue.
- Where this divides into two, take the right hand fork: Roosevelt Road.
- Follow this road, crossing Bradford Crescent, and you will end up at the school gates.
- To get to the entrance we’re using, follow the car park round to the left of the school. The entrance is on the side.
What’s happening at the banquet?
- Proceedings will start at 7pm with mulled cider and apple juice. There will also be nibbles, and a wandering minstrel will play.
- At 7pm, there will be dancing with Chris Wagstaffe and the St Nicholas’ Ceilidh Band.
- At around 9pm, we will sit down to eat. There will be more music during the meal. The menu is:
- Starter: Carrot and Coriander Soup with bread
- Main course: Roast Pork, Roast Beef, Roast Chicken
- Vegetarian option: Stuffed vegetables
- Potatos, carrots, peas, cabbage, roast parsnip, pickled red cabbage, sage and onion stuffing, bread and gravy
- Lattice apple pies
- A Surprise Cake
- Drinks will be available throughout the night, vis:
- Cider from Richs Cider Farm, at £1.50/pint
- Beers from Hill Island Brewery: Black Frost, a dark beer, 3.8%, and Dunelm Best, a light red beer, 4.5%, both at £1.50/pint
- Lanchester Mead, at £6.50/bottle
- Moniak Mead, at £8.50/bottle
- There will also be some mead on tables (around 1/4 bottle per person)

- There will no doubt be further music
- Carriages at 2am
A list of people booked can be found here. If you want to submit a late booking, fill in the form, but at this stage don’t assume you can come until we’ve said yes! Giving Tim a ring may be the best bet.
What else is happening over the weekend?
Friday night: AGM, Elvet Riverside 144, 6:45pm.
Saturday: Pre-banquet bash, meeting at 10am at DSU. There are 5 character spaces, talk to Dom if you are interested.
Cornwall and Wessex are balanced on the proverbial knife’s edge and war is but a breath away. Insult piled upon insult upon the Cornish have them restless and eager for war.
The noble houses of Wessex have planned a seasonal hunt in the New Forest and are planning to make trophies of the magical beasts that prowl the place.
It’s a very dangerous place, the New Forest.
Accidents can easily happen.

Saturday 3:30pm, at the banquet venue: banquet setup. Helpers are needed, 3XP will be awarded to all who help (though you can’t claim for this AND the PBB).
Saturday evening: banquet!
Sunday 10am, at the venue: tidying up. Helpers also needed for this; the tournament won’t start until it’s done!
Sunday 1pm: The Tournament, at the Sands! Then to Wetherspoons.
Sunday 4pm: Nerd East meeting, for those involved, at Wetherspoons.
