The Durholme-Atlatas Treaty

The Durholme-Atlatas Treaty

Signed on this, the 13th January 1308

This treaty between the nations of Durholme and Atlatas sets out our mutual consensus on the matter of aid to one another. Our agreed obligations are as follows:

Atlatas agrees:

  • To provide an emergency refuge for the people of Durholme upon Atlatas, to be activated to receive the people of Durholme by rapid transport should this clause be invoked by united agreement of Durholme’s governing body.
  • To maintain a means of communication with Durholme.

Atlatas further agrees, where reasonably practical:

  • To trade with Durholme, or, where direct trade is infeasible, for representative traders unable to return to Atlatas to trade with Durholme, for such uncommon materials as Durholme may need and Atlatas’ traders may reasonably acquire.
  • To share with Durholme any relevant knowledge pertaining to modern-day threats, incursions, or dangers.

Durholme agrees:

  • To welcome visitors from Atlatas and accord them the same rights as residents of Durholme for the duration of their stay. Where residents of Atlatas commit crimes against Durholme law, Atlatas agrees that Durholme law shall apply to said residents.

Durholme further agrees, where reasonably practical:

  • To trade with Atlatas, or, where direct trade is infeasible, to trade with representative traders originating from Atlatas for such materials as Atlatas or its traders may need and Durholme’s traders may reasonably acquire.
  • To share with Atlatas any relevant knowledge pertaining to modern-day threats, incursions, or dangers.

This Agreement shall remain in force for a period of two years, and thereafter shall remain in force until the expiry of six months from the date on which either Contracting Party have given written notice of termination to the other through the diplomatic channel. Should it be possible, both Atlatas and Durholme agree to discuss the terms of this treaty and whether their needs are being met therein by the other, wherein modifications may be made, agreed upon and the treaty extended for a further period of two years. Otherwise its duration shall be extended automatically for a further period of two years.
